New Haglofs Winter Clothing arrived in Peebles

Haglofs Map Beanie
New in the Peeebles branch is the Haglöfs Map Beanie £25, a knitted reversible activity beanie with excellent thermal properties and minimal pack volume. Knitted in a lovely soft merino/acrylic blend this cap feels like a comfort blanket for your head. The simple no-seam hems minimise bulk and the flatlock seams ensure comfort. It has quite a deep crown, so can be worn loose or snugly with the hem turned up to the desired height. The care labels inside are bar-tacked in place- so once you’ve read them, they are simply removed in order to reveal the reverse colour pattern. Sweden recently banned by law the sale of merino wool products sourced from sheep that have undergone the controversial procedure of Mulesing- so the source of the merino wool in this hat is Mulesing-free.

Haglofs Barrier Vest

The Barrier Vest £70, needs no introduction, having been a staple in our Winter range for a number of years- this season’s stock has just arrived in Peebles. This light, warm and highly packable vest is highly wind and water resistant thanks to the outer shell of Performac™ 1001 a 30-denier mini ripstop weave with low weight and bulk which is constructed to be downproof and fiberproof and has a DWR treated surface. The vest features elasticated sleeve openings and hem and two handwarmer pockets, of which one also works as a stuff sack for the vest. The synthetic insulation, provides just the right level of insulation and compressibility so that the vest can act as an excellent extra layer, stored in you winter rucksack ready for when you need it.

Haglofs Boiga Hood Jacket

Haglöfs make some of our favourite softshells with their own Flexable™ range of fabrics being particularly well-suited to the British climate in the balance of insulation, wind/water resistance and breathability they offer. The new Boiga Hood £135 uses Flexable™ 447, a midweight, durable soft shell fabric with excellent 4-way stretch, uniquely developed by Haglöfs to incorporate the system of shell and insulation in one fabric. The durable, wind resistant construction is highly breathable, as well as snow and water shedding thanks to the PFOS/PFOA free DWR finish. The closed mesh knit backer offers next-to-skin comfort with low friction. These properties combine to ensure that you can stay out longer before you need to reach for your waterproof shell jacket and the non-membrane construction means that when, as seems to be inevitable in the British winter, you do need to wear a waterproof over the top the performance of the breathable properties of your waterproof shell are not compromised. In the Boiga, this fabric technology is combined in a functional multi-purpose hooded soft shell jacket for all-round all-year use with 2 hand warmer secure pockets, 1 secure outer chest pocket and full front zipper with wind flap. There’s a single-hand cord adjustable hem and articulated sleeves. Like the Barrier Jacket it features quick-drying Power stretch® cuffs, this time with integrated thumb grips. Available in men’s and women’s versions in two fantastic rich Haglöfs colours, the green (pictured) for women and a deep cobalt blue for men
