The fun starts if you are approaching the town from the west with a substantial diversion around the Old Town in place (marked in red on the map) We've been advised that access in to Greenside Car Park will be maintained from the foo...

Can't go wrong with socks....

A decent pair of socks might lack something in originality but are always a welcome gift. Our range includes Thorlo Hiking (£13) and Trekking (£18)- both featuring THOR_LON® fibres for moisture wicking and durability and with cushioned instep and arch for a supportive fit. The thicker Trekking sock also incorporates wool and hollow fibre insulative fibres for additional warmth and even more cushioning for heavier duty activities. Thorlo Hiking £13 Thorl Trekking £18

Another gift idea: Firefly LED torch £8

The compact Firefly LED torch (£8) can deliver up to 60 lumens of light from its 1 Watt white LED bulb yet weighs only 41g (including supplied AA battery). Measuring a neat 93mm long x 20mm diameter it's ideal to slip in to a pocket, bag or car glove-box.

Q: What makes a better stocking filler gift than a spork?

A: Two sporks ( in a case) for £5.50- one for mains, the other for afters and a case to bring them home in

Big Things in Peebles for our Birthday Weekend

It's our Peebles store's birthday tomorrow (we'll be 22 years young) and, as is becoming traditional, we've got a long weekend of offers available to celebrate and to kick start your Christmas shopping. We'll be open late tonight while the town Christmas Lights are switched on and there are 20% OFF deals to be had throughout the store until Tuesday If you need any more excuses to visit Peebles this weekend we can highly recommend the community art event Rapt in Winter being held in local galleries all over the town. You can view their beautiful map here  and find out more about the artists and galleries involved via  the event website  and Richard Rowe's blogs  There'll be live music throughout the town too Last but not least the regular local Food Market is running all weekend with additional hot food from The Restaurant at Kailzie Gardens
